Try our new & improved rye loaf! Oat Rye is the same size + shape as the former Hearth Rye, however, toasted oats are folded throughout the dough + also cover the exterior of the loaf. The interior crumb is more tender + less dense. The flavor is slightly less rye-forward; instead of bright / fruity rye notes you'll get a warmer / toastier and more subtle rye flavor. The new loaf is also leavened with 100% sourdough starter -- unlike Hearth Rye, which contained a small amount of commercial yeast. Unlike most traditional rye loaves, this loaf does not contain caraway seeds - we prefer to let the rye sourdough flavors shine on their own. Vegan, contains wheat.
